Gamirasu is the name of an exquisitely restored 30 rooms troglodyte cave house opened in 1999, in Ayvali Village near Urgup in the heart of Cappadocia, Turkey.
The hotel is located in a restored thousand-year-old Byzantine monastic retreat which offers modern conveniences without distracting from the spiritual feeling of the area which has been known to be inhabited for more than five thousand years.

Gamirasu hotel is a combination of seven old houses with 30 rooms, exquisitely restored and combined. Part of the hotel was used by Christian monks until recently. Some of the rooms were actually monk cells. The quality of the cave rooms makes you feel cool in the summer and warm in the winter.
Volcanic rock called "tufa" is perfect insulation material which keeps the temperature between 17 - 20 degrees Celsius throughout the year. All rooms are different from each other in their size, shape and qualities.

Family Suite: It consists of two connected bedrooms, each having a door which can be locked or left open. The rooms are attached to each other. The doors of the rooms open to a private hallway.
One room has a large bed, the other one has two separate beds. Rooms have vaulted ceilings and valley view. The door of the hallway opens to our rose garden. The private shower & W.C. (Toilet) is in this corridor and is linked to both rooms.
Superior Family Suite It consists of two separate bedrooms enjoying a private sitting lounge with fireplace in front. Each room has a door which can be locked or left open.
One room has a large bed, the other one has two separate beds which can be put together to make a large bed as well. Rooms are all in the cave. They have small windows opening to sitting lounge.The door of the hallway opens to a terrace with the view of the valley.
Cave Suite:One of the largest cave rooms in the hotel with the view of the Rose garden. Traditional Cappadocian style sittting corner or "sedir" furnished with kilims and carpets from Cappadocia.
Superior Suite :One of the most romantic rooms of the hotel. Modern & traditional design, very spacious with fireplace for romantic Cappadocian nights and a balcony to enjoy the sunset while you sip your local wine. The Suite has bathroom with jacuzzi and fireplace where you can enjoy a taste of Cappadocia wine. The terrace faces caves where you may be able to see ancient abandoned cave village.
Hittite Suite:One of the newest Suite rooms at the hotel with an old history. It may be about 2500 years old. The room has an original "key stone door" in the shape of mill stone as in the underground cities of Cappadocia. This type of architecture is from the Hittite times (dated back to 1200 BC) so the original shape of the room isrespected during restoration. It has a small window and it is a real cave.
Eagle Nest Deluxe Suite:One of the most spacious rooms of the hotel. The room may have a four thousand year old history.
Room has a fireplace, a quite terrace with the view of the valley and the cave houses on the other side.The Suite has bathroom with Sauna and jacuzzi. From your Jacuzzi you may enjoy the view of the caves.
